This is a giclée reproduction of a wood engraving by Thomas Nast, the illustration lettered Th Nast and dated 1877. Nast helped shape the popular image of Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly, and here he draws the figure seated indoors on Christmas Eve, pipe in hand, by the fire.
