Who created this Happy New Year scene?
This is a giclée reproduction of a Thomas Nast wood-engraving illustration; the American artist's Christmas drawings appeared in Harper's Weekly from 1863 to 1886, and in 1890 he published the book Thomas Nast's Christmas Drawings for the Human Race. His signature sits on a small card on the floor within the scene, and a printed caption reads Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
