Questions about this print

What are the Major Arcana cards?

The Major Arcana are the 22 trump cards of a tarot deck, numbered from The Fool through The World. They mark life's larger themes and turning points. The Sun (XIX), The Moon (XVIII) and The Star (XVII) shown here are three of these central cards, each carrying its own symbolic meaning.

Who illustrated the 1909 tarot deck?

Artist Pamela Colman Smith illustrated the 1909 deck under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite, published by William Rider and Son. Her expressive line work and scene-based imagery became the 1909 deck standard, and it is her original drawings of The Sun, The Moon and The Star that appear in this trio.

What does this tarot card mean?

The Star signals hope, healing and renewal; The Moon points to intuition, dreams and the unknown; The Sun brings joy, clarity and success. Together this trio reads as a journey from uncertainty toward light, which is why the three cards work so well displayed as a set.

How do I display tarot card art?

Group the three prints in a row for a balanced set, spacing frames evenly at eye level. Lean them on a shelf or mantel for a relaxed look, or hang them above a sofa or bed. Warm walnut or black frames suit the vintage 1909 line work best.
