Questions about this print

What paper is this Orient Express print made on, and which sizes are available?

It is giclée printed on premium 230GSM archival matte paper and offered in ten sizes: 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, 16×20, A3, 18×24, 20×25, 24×30, 24×36 and 32×40. Larger sizes give the small timetable lettering and the detailed route map more room to read clearly on the wall.

What does the Orient Express poster show?

The poster shows a painted city of domes and minarets rising above a harbour of ships, framed by an arch lettered Paris, Munich, Vienne, Budapest, Belgrade and Constantinople. Below, a steam train crosses an unrolled map whose red route runs from Londres to Constantinople beside a crescent flag, with Winter 1888-89 timetables printed at lower left.

Can you wear jeans on the Orient Express?

Daytime travel on the modern Orient Express allows smart casual wear, so tailored jeans can be acceptable, but evenings call for formal attire like jackets and dresses. The 1888 spirit shown in this poster leaned firmly toward elegance, reflecting the glamour that made the route legendary.

Why did they stop the Orient Express?

The original Orient Express service declined through the twentieth century as air travel grew faster and cheaper, and its final direct run ended in 2009. Luxury successors still operate today, keeping the romance alive, much like this poster preserves the route between Paris and Constantinople.
