Questions about this print

What are the Major Arcana cards?

The Major Arcana are the 22 trump cards of a tarot deck, numbered 0 to XXI, from The Fool to The World. Death is card XIII. They represent major life themes and turning points rather than everyday events, unlike the 56 cards of the Minor Arcana.

Who illustrated the 1909 tarot deck?

Artist Pamela Colman Smith illustrated the 1909 deck under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite, published by William Rider & Son. Her detailed line drawings gave every card its scene-based imagery, and the deck remains the most widely used today.

What does this tarot card mean?

The Death card rarely signals literal death. It represents endings, transformation and clearing space for new beginnings. The skeleton knight and rising sun point to renewal after change. In a reading it often marks the close of one chapter and the necessary release that lets the next one begin.

How do I display tarot card art?

Display tarot art by leaning it on a shelf or console, hanging a single card as a focal point, or grouping several major arcana prints into a gallery wall. Matte paper suits framing behind glass or clipping to a hanger. Keep it out of direct sunlight to protect the ink.
